Fat Pen at Logan

I’m on a trip to Texas this weekend and found myself with a little extra time on my hands, so I broke out the “fat” pen.

I like that I can put down a lot of ink quickly and get a variety of lines out of this pen. It’s a number 10.

I started by trying to secretly sketch a couple people sitting in the Logan airport. I did a quick sketch of a plane and tried to capture the fantastic clouds above the terminal.

I then turned my attention to hair and made up faces.

One thing I discovered about drawing hair. Parallel lines do a great job of describing hair. I found when I crossed the lines, it didn’t look as good. Keeping the lines parallel or merging, without crossing worked well.

This is some close up hair lines and some weaving-looking pattern.

More hair and some with faces.
