We sat down to watch a DVR’d episode of So You Think You Can Dance and I decided it would be fun to try and capture some of the dancer’s poses. I was able to get some quick gesture poses down. It was a fun exercise and the kids who are dancing are just amazing!

This first one started with a separate gesture sketch just getting the arm and leg positions. I then re-did it but more with an eye towards the outline. I added a few touches on the clothing and voila!

This was the ending pose of one of the dances. It’s so much easier to sketch them when they are standing still!

While we watched the dancers, Sophie rested her head on her pillow and tried to sleep.
